When he discovered in high school that a designer is an “architect for objects,” Stéphane Thirouin knew this was his calling: to “create” rather than “recite”—a natural fit for a lifelong Lego enthusiast.
Armed with a degree from ESDI (Ecole Supérieure de Design Industriel), Stéphane entered the industrial sector to experience the birth of products firsthand.
After 10 years at LEGRAND, a specialist in electrical equipment where he designed products sold by the tens of millions, Stéphane was recruited by FACOM—a dream choice for a mechanic at heart—where he spent a decade designing tools with lifetime guarantees. During this time, he also earned an Executive MBA from ESSEC.
Stéphane then took over the design leadership at Groupe SEB.
A tenure at the startup Devialet made him realize it was time to embark on his own entrepreneurial adventure.
And that is how he decided to “sell wind,” by designing, financing, and industrializing Williwaw!
A few years and a great deal of hard work later, Williwaw has established itself as a designer fan that is powerful, intelligent, sustainable, and ultra-silent.
